Company Overview China Petroleum Bio-Energy Company Limited established in Shenzhen China is a Sino-Hong Kong joint venture between China Petroleum Energy Holdings Company Limited and Jilin Chengde Energy Development Company Limited. The Company engages in biomass plantation and biodiesel refinery developments, activities include research and developments, agronomy, biodiesel and oleochemical products manage and operations.
China Petroleum Energy Holdings Company Limited is a holding company engages in oil and natural gas development and exploration. Company focuses in both onshore and offshore oil and gas in China, Venezuela, Mongolia and Australia, as well as engages in oil refinery business.
Since 2007 the Company has specially engages in Jatropha curcas planting in Meizhou Guangdong Province in China and has successfully completed planting on 2000 Mu of land. The success in pilot planting has proven Jatropha is well suited for large scale planting on non-arable land in Eastern Guangdong province.
CPE currently operates Jatropha plantations and a nursery cultivation center in Guangdong and Hainan China, separate Oleochemical refinery facilitates will be established in both regions in China. CPE, in 2010, will start operating on 200,000 hectares of existing Jatropha plantations in Sichuan China.
With full support from The Ministry of Science and Technology of People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce’s China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Company has jointly cooperated with the Life Science College of Sichuan University and established a 520 Mu nursery center in Hainan Province. The nursery center focuses on elite seeds breeding and high yield cultivation technological research and commits to China’s UNDP renewable energy poverty reduction program utilizing Jatropha curcas.
The Company in Gaobeidian City Heibei province has establish Gaobeidian Hai Zhong Oil and Natural Gas Technology Consulting Company, engages in oil conversion technological research and responsible for the editing of three chapters in CNOOC’s “World Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Development Digest”. While continue to expand into broader scope of business activities, the Company puts great emphasis on the building of its research and development team. The Company currently employs 27 mid to senior level scientific research personnel, concentrates efforts in biomass and conventional energy research and development.
